Managing Sequences on a Nominode

Sequences are used to schedule one or more Tasks to execute at specific times on a recurring basis. Sequences are also used allow one Task to begin execution after another Task completes its execution, rather than at a specific time.

Creating a Sequence

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Set the Project Select field at the top of the page to the Project* that you would like to associate the new Sequence with.
  3. Click on the Create Sequence button in the upper right hand corner of the page.
  4. Type in a name for your Sequence.
  5. Set a schedule for when your Sequence will execute using a Cron Expression.  
  6. Select whether or not your Sequence will be enabled initially.
  7. Pick a Task from the drop down on the first row to be the first Task in your Sequence.
  8. If desired, add subsequent Tasks to your Sequence using the Add Task button and selecting the desired Task in each row.
  9. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the section.

Enabling or Disabling Scheduled Runs for a Sequence

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the top of the page to select the Project that your Sequence is associated with.
  3. Locate your Sequence in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  4. Click on the toggle button in the Enabled column of the Sequence.

Executing a Sequence on Demand

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the top of the page to select the Project that your Sequence is associated with.
  3. Locate your Sequence in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  4. Click on the lightning bolt icon in the Execute column of the Sequence.

Editing a Sequence

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the top of the page to select the Project that your Sequence is associated with.
  3. Locate your Sequence in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  4. Click on the name of the Sequence.
  5. Edit the fields on the Update tab of the Sequence of the Update Sequence page as desired.
  6. You can add additional Tasks or remove Tasks by clicking on the red ( X ) button next to them. 
  7. You can change the order of the Tasks by clicking and dragging them up or down.
  8. Click on the Save button at the bottom of the section when you are done making changes.

Viewing details about a Sequence execution

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the top of the page to select the Project that your Sequence is associated with.
  3. Locate your Sequence in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  4. Click on the name of the Sequence.
  5. Click on the Executions tab on the Update Sequence page.
  6. Click on the Fetch button to retrieve the most recent execution results.
  7. Locate the your Sequence execution in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  8. Use the plus ( + ) icon on the left hand side of the execution row to expand and view the execution details of the individual tasks in the Sequence.

Deleting a Sequence

  1. Click on Sequences near the end of the left hand navigation menu of your Nominode.
  2. Use the Project Select field at the top of the page to select the Project that your Sequence is associated with.
  3. Locate your Sequence in the list, using the search fields or page navigation arrows if necessary.
  4. Click on the name of the Sequence.
  5. Click on the Delete Sequence button in the upper right hand corner of the section.
